I DO know that sometimes the lines occur when there's a frame that I can X out of at the top of the page. (ie when I'm doing an image search.) When I X out of that and get the whole web page, the lines disappear. I don't know if that gives you any clues or not. And sometimes the lines aren't visible exactly... but the text is affected while scrolling line per line (unless I click on that line.) Eh. It's annoying. Can you tell me what version of IE you are using as well as what operating system you are running. My first bit of advice would be to update IE if you are not running the latest version already.
